Well, my shower was Saturday and I think it went well. There were no games and the party throwers arranged for everyone to decorate a onsie for the Grey man. I am looking forward to seeing all of them. I hope people didn't think it was too lame but hey...... If they did not my fault. It was a tad bit uncomfortable opening presents with 20 people staring at me but it went fairly quickly and I am overwhelmed by the gifts people gave us as well as the love and support I feel by my friends and family.

The next day we (me, Mr Nakedmonkey, the bug, my 2 sisters, and my mom) drove out to Astoria and then onto Seaside. I had a nice time and it was the perfect Oregon day. It was nice and gray all day and not too cool and you could see the first kiss of fall on the trees. My sisters freaked out by all the beauty down there and I gave them a little "I told you so" about Oregon. We ate and ate and ate and had a pretty good time.

My sisters leave tonight leaving my mom for a couple of months. We will see how that goes. If it does become too much......................... Can I stay at your house?

My mother and sister arrive tonight. Tomorrow is my midwife appt. and my 3rd wedding anniversary. Thursday we take the bug to the circus for her birthday. Friday I get adjusted and pick up my other sister from the airport. Saturday I go to my shower. Sunday we do the coast.

I can do all of this?

I got a wonderful diaper bag from my super talented friend Jen. (again I would show you pictures but alas I am camera free). My MIL and friend are throwing me a shower and I hope that he isn't born by then. I feel pretty good. Heavy. tired. I have been sewing a lot and making booties (oh did I mention that I also have insomnia).

Alright first off thank you Korin for taking actual proof that I am pregnant and I will be posting the picture on here soon.

We are officially in the 8th month (holy shit, I know) I am working on a sweater for the little man and hope to get it (as well as a few hats and booties) done for him in time. Now that the knitting content is done I can tell you what else has been going on. I have been checking my blood 1000 times a day and so far everything seems on track. I hate the new diet and am real real real tired of pricking my finger already.

Went to the babywearing conference on Saturday and had a great time. I saw a lot of cool slings and wraps and fell in love with the mei tais. Met up with my ladies and had lunch. It was lovely. That leads us to Sunday...... We had the bug's best friend and her folks over for what was supposed to be a bbq. Mr. Nakedmonkey found ANOTHER wasp nest in the back yard so grilling was out.

The farmer's market was closed.

Then during dinner our neighbor comes running over and bangs on our door wanting to use our phone because she found her baby in the tub and thought he had drown. Our friend is a NP so she ran right over to help and I just sat there stunned. I tried to distract the girls during this thing but I was just in shock. I felt guilty. I felt afraid. Our friend returned after the emt arrived and said that the baby had a pulse and was breathing albeit very shallowly. After that we went to the park to get over the shock of it all. It was just awful. Late last night Mr. Nakedmonkey ran into one of the people who live across the street there and he told him that the baby should be alright and CPS is involved (thank goodness.............. That is not me being mean you would have to live across the street from them to understand). The babe is supposed to be breathing now just fine.

When we returned home the girls had watermelon and then our friends returned home. We sat on the sofa to relax and I noticed that there was something in the bug's hair. It was just that. A bug. So off we are to the store to buy nit combs and up I am until 1 washing linens and combing the bugs out of our girl's hair. We checked her again this morning and it looks like we got them all. Mr. Nakedmonkey is a gift for me, I believe, to replace all of my very bad luck. He want through our girl's hair with a skewer and the smallest comb on the planet.

So that has been my past 48 hours. I need a vacation.

As I took blood from my finger today to check my sugar an old familiar friend came back.............. Failure. I know I didn't do anything to cause this (unless you count being in love and happy and gaining a butt load of weight) but I don't know if it is residuals from infertility or what but that old familiar failure feeling came back and wrapped itself around me like a nasty ex boyfriend.

We are in the third trimester now. Can you dig it?? 12 weeks to go. I don't have a camera but I look a lot like this............. 8

I have been in a funk for the past few days. Money issues are threatening my sanity and then I also feel....... I don't know.......... a longing for something missing. Be it in my circle of bitches or just in my own head. I will let you know what I figure out.

Baby Nakedmonkey kicks like crazy. I love feeling that. I look forward to nursing.

One of my kick butt knitting friends donated some diapers and a sling to the baby nakedmonkey pile and it is very very appreciated.

We go camping with one of the bug's friends (we call her the diva) and her folks in a couple of weeks and I am really looking forward to the vacation. It is the only one Mr. Nakedmonkey gets for his company doesn't believe in paternity leave *shrug* So we will go camping for 4 days and hope that that will be enough.

Oh and we have a name. ;)

and all is well. It is still kind of freaky for this to be going so smoothly. I had some trouble breathing but it is just allergies and now I have to take a claritin everyday and it should clear up. If not then I guess I will move back to the desert just like Doc Holliday. The man child is kicking me like nobody's business and I blame it all on Mr. Nakedmonkey (I was told to take advantage of the fact that I am carrying "his" manchild) The bug is on summer break now and from the rate she started high speed talking this morning she should be on a plane to either Indiana or Nevada in a matter of weeks;)

I made a gift registry and now my mother wants me to send it to everyone in the US........... I feel like that is begging for gifts............ I dunno.

I crave crab legs and want cereal every time I go to the store but after I get it and eat it I am sick. Talking to Korin last night made me realize that soakers may not be the best option for us due to Mr. Nakedmonkey's wool allergies. Sooo I guess diaper wraps are going to be the way to go. Now could someone come over and show me how to make those?

Miss Riv and I have been out all wee. She was in the pool and I have been reading. My house is falling into a nasty state but all I want to do is read (Dry by Augusten Burroughs at the moment) I am also working a 'birthing mix' for my ipod but did you know that itunes doesn't carry John Lennon? I need to write a letter or something.......

Ok, I think it is me. I have lived here for nearly 6 years now. I have made a few friends but nothing like I had in Vegas. Was it the time? Was it the trauma? Was it the death? Did I lose something in me that everyone can see but me? I just don't understand. I miss home terribly lately. (not enough to fly home cause damn it's hot there now)

Bean is doing well. We told the family this weekend and everyone seemed very much like "oh another boy... How bout that?" On the other hand my family was " a what??? what do you do with those???"

So now it is just time to look for and settle on a name. My dad thinks Boliver Kagnasty. It is now our backup. ;)

18 weeks................... I am getting huge! I would love to post pics but our camera went from diva to college roommate in a matter of days. As soon as I can get my hands on one I will take a picture. On birthin news we did switch from the OB to the midwife and I am thrilled. I am so much more comfortable with her AND she seems to actually understand that my time is valuable as well. The migraines have mostly gone away now and I am thrilled. I actually have some energy (of course that means more house cleaning for me).

May 11! That is when we (hopefully) find out what gender that baby of ours is. So you can start placing your bets now! The bug has $50 on female.

On the knitting front I am working on the patchwork blanket from Last Minute Knitted Gifts and really need to get on some soakers. If anyone has some good recommendations on soaker patterns please let me know.

Can I take a moment and let the world (or rather all 3 of my readers) know that Mr. Nakedmonkey rocks the hizouse!?!?! He has been so caring and attentive it almost feels like I don't deserve it. And when I feel like every human on earth hates me he is always in my corner. It is so refreshing to have a partner in all of this. I love you!

Well, we have made it to 16 weeks. I am feeling like every week is an accomplishment right now. I am feeling much less sick but I have started getting nightly migraines (what a trade off!) I feel like a tank but Mr. Nakedmonkey assures me that I am still as super freakin hot as ever (and why would he fib??) I have strange food issues and oddly enough nose ring issues. It isn't sore or anything but I can really feel it in there....... Odd, I know.

I would love to post pictures of my progress but A- there is no way I am showing my fat to blogland and 2- our digi cam is broken or at least a diva. We are still uncertain if we are going to stay with my OB whom I really really like or switch over to the midwife I saw a few times whom I really really like as well. I guess I should hunker down and do some serious thinkin'.

Today I got my CDIB. I was told I may have to register with a local tribe. I wish I had more information. I see a lot of research in my future. The good news is that the bugs educational options (as well as my own) have broadened a bit................. If I could find a way to get all the shit I need to get done done. Super cleaning day my be shelved for super research day. It is so strange to belong to something like a tribe but in hindsight I guess I always have. Be it Rainbows or bikers or activists my folks have always sought out a tribe of their own. Maybe this is what has been missing for so long? Fathers and natives and paperwork.......... This is my future now as I see it. Oh that and getting back on the TTC train in a few months.

I got the new BUST in the mail yesterday (thank you silly little girl) and am trying hard not to read it all in one sitting............. There is a mini interview with Henry Rollins in there and may I take this opportunity to pledge my undying love to him........ I love you Henry even though you are full of muscle. There is also an interview with Peaches in there and I can not wait to read it. I remember the first time I ever listened to Peaches I think I actually blushed. It was in an um. All girls..... Dance club and I went on ahead and flew my freak flag.

I finished the ugly bag and am waiting until I finish Marley to felt it. I will be done soon and will post pictures.

It has been forever but hey....... I have been under a black blanket for some time now. Part of me wants to be alone my heart is bruised and I don't want to play. Part of me wants someone to see me but is afraid of what they will see. Thank goodness 2005 is over. Hopefully 2006 will be kinder. I will try to post more this year it does help my brain a little. I will do more for the bug she deserves everything I have to give. I will tell the people that I love that I do love them more and try to open myself up (hard hard hard). Today is my 29th birthday (yeah I said it). It is pretty bittersweet................ It is the first birthday that a lot of friends want to do things with me and it is lovely and strange. I am really used to being ignored on my "special day" but this is nice. Tonight I plan on hanging out with my little girl. Maybe sushi maybe some yarn shopping.
For a little birthday preview I got to go to my RE yesterday for a full check up (read:hoo-haw probing). I got a little excited because it took forever to get my pregnancy results but all was for not. After that we talked a bit about my struggles and I actually started crying in front of her. I wanted to disappear. She suggested that I find a good therapist or support group.
I have a lot of "before I turn 30 goals to finish this year. I want to get back into school, travel more, spend less, and visit the trail of tears. I want to become closer to my husband, daughter, and friends. I want to learn to forgive my family....... They just can't seem to help themselves. I want to go dancing. I want to lose A LOT of weight. I want to find a creative and satisfying way to earn money. I want to not take so much for granted. I want to knit a sweater. I want to sew a purse. I want to not have such a bitter little shriveled up heart. I want to be more assertive. I want to love more.

Okay well I have been crafting my crafty bone to the nub. I have made a lot of super cool sweet assed things that I can not tell you about nor post pictures of. They are taking my step grandfather "off of the machines" today. I didn't know Ken very well. I don't feel awful for not knowing him all that well that was just the type of person he was. I hear that he fawned over me as a little girl with my bouncy black ringlets and big black eyes but as a teenmonster we really had less in common. That coupled with the fact that he lived in Oklahoma made it difficult for a long lasting close relationship.

What I do know about him is really quite admirable. He met my grandmother ( a fierce woman with 4 children already) fell in love with her and took on her brood with no problems. He was a war veteran as well as a POW survivor.

Mostly I remember that he always wore blue flannel shirts, had funny faded green tattoos, and told me that because my knees were ticklish I was boy crazy. Goodbye Ken.....

I have started a new medication in order to control my PCOS. So far it sucks.... (headaches and nausea) but I have a few friends that have been taking it with reasonable results.

Two of my girlfriends are now with child. I am so very happy for the both of them. I know that they now are not sure if I want to be around them and I do. I do wish to be around both of them. They didn't get pregnant to spite me. Or did they?

I can't post any of my recent craftiness for they are dreaded holiday presents and I know some of you bitches read this.

Camping and Kindergarten

Okay well we went camping for our (2 year) anniversary and had a great time. It rained on and off but hey.... This is Oregon what would camping be without a little rain? We went with a couple of friends of ours, made fire, played cards, went hiking and drank the rum mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm rum!!

Well this has been one hell of a weekend. I helped dear Miss K move her office and it is lovely (though I didn't really do anything). I got color on one tattoo and had another put on. I met River's new teacher (Polly) and she freakin rocks. She used to be a midwife, parenting teacher, lactation consultant, and over all teacher of all things baby and good. She outlined the year's theme for us (space, dinosaurs, and archeology) and read with the bug.......

Oh and speaking of the bug... She is READING!!!! She amazes me with her reading and general awesomeness (princess-y behavior excluded)

I finished the extraordinary package for my SP..... Hopefully it will knock her socks off.

And now for the help..... I need a blogger to come and help me work this thing out. I feel like such a backward monkey trying to use this thing. My screen is all messed up because I don't know how to insert anything correctly. I want to change my name from Naked Monkey Knits to just Naked Monkey and re-do everything. So...... Anyone? My father (in Mississippi) is okay as are all of his children. I am lucky for that. I can not express how I am feeling because emotionally lately I have lived on the edge and am too raw to fully express my sorrow and pain both for me and for the world that I live in. At times like these I almost wish I had a higher power to point the finger at but unfortunately the earth has spoken and man seemed to get the wrong message....... I have been a seriously sucky blogger lately and it is mainly because I just bought a new ghetto fabulous house. And in doing so I jacked up my good knittn arm. I have all these projects staring at me from their basket but all I can do now is give them the finger and tell them to buck up. I also have the overwhelming urge to embroider (and I think I just might in spite of my recent gimpy-ness).......

On the personal front..... I won't be working again until the fall so I have like a month and a half to get this place in some kind of order. With the help of some kick ass monkey friends of mine I got three rooms painted in the week before we moved in but I would really really like to get the bedroom all romance-y for Mr. Nakedmonkey and myself. While at the bins the other day I was checking out all these rose themed sheets and stuff but he was not ready to get on the vintage shabby chic train... He will though.... For I will not be denied by Jeebus!

Ok. I have a couple of girlfriends that I must say a proper thank you to. K~ I am so glad I let my wall down (a near impossible feat for me) You have been the best support a girl could ever want. You love me even though we don't meet eye to eye on a lot *cough* spiritual*cough* things. You have helped me to understand that even though my body may be a fuck up it doesn't mean all of me is. You help me laugh and don't laugh if I cry. Thank you. I love you (mostly because you are a hot latina woooman)

J~ I haven't known you long but damn woman you rock. You are just so real and honest and strong and that is just what I needed at the crazy times you have walked into. I am so glad that I agreed to be civil when K asked if I wanted to go to Mables and meet her new friend jack. Thank you so much for being a much needed dose of strength when Mayberry had made me so soft ;) I love you too! (mostly because you are now my hot red head)

Mr. T~ I know things have been tough and are looking like they are going to stay that course for awhile...... I know I can be that little black storm cloud most days..... I love you! Thank you for accepting my sure for what it really was.

Super Crafty Day Eve is here.... I have the mother of all headaches but I am tooo excited. I need to gather up my craft stuff and get myself ready for K's house. I am going to craft until I am dragged back home or too drunk to knit (which was a less popular Dead Kennedy's song...... Just some trivia) I am going to finish a couple of washcloths, make a needle case, hopefully make a circle skirt, record bowls and hopefully a few stitch markers. Is there anybody out there?

Okay now I feel a little better. Mr Nakedmonkey and I are going to try for a year to not buy anything brand new (food and undergarments aside) I think we can do it. Between SCRAP, the bins, value village, and various yarn swappage I think we can do it.

We are buying a house and I am so scared that it is hard to type (that and typing is hard because I am really really good looking)....... The process so far has sucked much ass. Our realtor is wicked awesome and I haven't felt judged at all for being poor but the ghetto doesn't seem all that appealing. Oh well..... I have always been amused by hookers, meth, and crime it is high time the bug cultivates this amusement as well, right?

Okay so Mr. Nakedmonkey had Monday off so we decided to take an adventure day........... we went to libraries, rode the *gasp* bus, took Max, ate yummy food, and played in the Salmon Street fountian. It was totally called for with the recent money stress and I can not wait to do it again.

More on camping

Okay camping .........We had a great time! We (the J crew) arrived Friday afternoon to a very bruised and angry looking sky. We decided to resist the urge (and MY screaming) to just go to a motel and call K's crew and tell them to piss off and actually set up our tent in just the nick of time. The sky opened and we decided to run back into town and buy a canopy (which Mr. Nakedmonkey set up in the rain because he is indeed that friggen awesome). Clouds parted *ahhhhhhhhhh!* and we made the famous crud casserole over a newly built fire and took bets on how long it would take for the K crew to get there (I lost because the bastards made good time... Thanks K!)

We watched them set up like the well oiled machine that they are.......... Being seasoned campers and all and settled in for the night with Mr. K's jesus juice............ err camp lemonade. Next day we went to Bend to check out Juniper Fiberworks. Pretty nice YS but (okay you should probably sit down for this) I wasn't in to mood to buy yarn. freaky , I know!! We went back to camp and the Shoefairy crew was there setting up. It rained like a bastard on and off but that didn't stop turbo knitter K from knitting.....

Welly well well... I have finished another object (I can hardly believe it myself). It is a swinging summer top for the bug in *gasp* pink!!! She loves it and it looks great on her! I am so happy to get this finished!! Now I can take the cobweb shawl to my knitting group (aka the sad bastards club) so that Miss. K (Dr. Goodfingers) can help me with the edging. I also need to finish up Cozy; I want to get Cozy done so that I can start some socks for me. I think socks will be easier to take camping with me than Cozy will ..... For those of you that know me you can get up off of the floor now I did say camping. Dr. Goodfingers says that with the right company camping should be painless. We shall see. And now the pictures....

I need to find a more suitable backdrop for the non action knitting photos but I like the black it matches my soul ;)

As you can see I went in for more ink yesterday. My artist and I discussed the rest of my arm and I need to get a better job.

On the knitting front there are only 2,000,000 more freakin rows until I am done with my mom's cobweb shawl. I can't wait to show all 2 of you that read this monkey-ness. I am also about 1/116th into cozy for MIL. This shall be the year of the shawl/wrap for Chris(t) mas.

At home...... My daughter is a laugh riot! On the way home the other night she asked if it hurt to get a baby. I said ,"very much so, yes"

Okay I have 7 skeins of this really beautiful hand spun/organically dyed yarn that I would like to swap for something but can not for the life of me figure out what it is that I want. I had the most clever witty post last night and the blog monster ate it.

I spoke of my new class and how two of the students are teenagers and how I am not used to such creatures but I think it will be all okay in the end.

1. Do you knit continental or English? Continental............. in my own freaky left handed kind of way.

2. How long ago did you learn to knit? Nearly 2 years now. Wow. I know I'm neuvo-knit but I enjoy it so there.

3. First FO? A red scarf for the beast....... then I went on to make like 30 of them for the holiday like a crazy person.

4. Favorite yarn? Alpaca. mmmmmmmm alpaca.

5. Favorite pattern? That is a tough one........ I don't really think I have a favorite. I pretty much love every pattern until I near the end and am sick of looking at it.

6. Favorite pattern source? Knitty.com. Hands down. They rock.

7. Favorite needles? Either bamboo or my Denise set. I also LOVE the hardwood needles that my husband makes for me.

8. Nicest thing you’ve ever knit? For looks my alpaca wrap that I made up the pattern for. As a gift I would go with this basket weave blanket I am making for my friend's baby.

9. Most hated project? Harry. Potter. Scarf.

Well, I haven't been posting anything mainly because at night I have been sleeping with Mr. Vicodin. I am having a root canal and I guess I am just being a big ol wuss about it because I have needed the pain killers everynight. *shrug* Oh well.

On the knitting front I am working on the basket weave baby blanket and it is very nearly finished. Then I will finish the swingy summer top and socks. I will have some progress pictures up after my trip to the torture room tomorrow.
